The Fortune Is In The Follow-Up!

Follow-up tips for your prospective and existing affiliates in SFI or any other company

The most successful and highest-earning entrepreneurs know that “the fortune is in the follow-up” and capitalize on it by always following up multiple times. Indeed, according to The National Sales Executive Association, the average sale is closed as follows:

2% on 1st contact
3% on 2nd contact
5% on 3rd contact
10% on 4th contact
80% on 5th through 12th contact

Your follow-up technique and message will differ depending on the group you’re contacting. Basically, these groups fall into three categories—prospective affiliates you’re going to sponsor, your Personally Sponsored Affiliates (PSAs), and affiliates who have achieved the rank of Executive Affiliate or higher. Click one of the links below for tips, strategies, and tools for effective and profitable follow-ups within each group:

Prospective Affiliates You’re Going To Sponsor
Here are our suggested guidelines for following up with those interested in joining SFI:

1. Keep it simple! Provide concise instructions. A confused mind will not act.

2. Always identify yourself as an SFI Marketing Group affiliate so they make the connection as to why you’re contacting them. If you’re going to be their personal Sponsor or Team Leader, let them know that, too.

3. Make it short, friendly, and personal. Use their name in your salutation if you can.

4. Offer to answer questions they might have about SFI and home business in general. You may also wish to include a short testimonial of how the system is working for you (if you’ve got a good, strong testimonial to offer, that is). Offer friendly guidance and support!

5. Do NOT make aggressive statements like, “If you want to make money with this you need to accumulate 1,500 VersaPoints now.” This will only cause backlash and cause people to opt out of SFI. Our system clearly works, and one big reason is because we bring people through in steps, without undue pressure. We show them the BENEFITS of participating in SFI and let them decide. There’s no need to twist anyone’s arm.

6. Do NOT get into long, drawn-out explanations of the compensation plans, SFI products, etc. You may, however, wish to let your prospects know that detailed information on these topics and others will be available to them immediately upon joining SFI.

7. Remind them that there’s no obligation or cost to join SFI. They can take their time, learn about all the benefits of SFI, and take advantage of our free training.

8. Do NOT confuse them with references to other products, services, or business opportunities.

Personally Sponsored Affiliates (PSAs)

When your Personally Sponsored Affiliates (PSAs) first sign up with SFI, our system sends up to three confirmation e-mails containing a link in which they confirm their desire to be an SFI Affiliate. This action ensures they will receive important e-mails from SFI, including sales reports, newsletters, and notifications. You’ll therefore want to encourage your affiliates to confirm their SFI registration.

For a list of your PSAs who have not yet procured full access to SFI, see your Non-Confirmed PSA Report.

For a list of all your Sponsored Affiliates, see your Genealogy report.

Here are our suggested guidelines for following up with your PSAs:

1. Always identify yourself as an SFI Marketing Group affiliate so your new affiliates make the connection as to why you’re contacting them. If you’re their Sponsor, let them know that, too.

2. Refer ALL your new PSAs to their To-Do List at the SFI homepage, where they can begin to immediately familiarize themselves with SFI’s simple plan for maximizing success.

3. Make your communication (e-mail, print, etc.) with them short, friendly, and personal. Use their name in your salutation if you can. NOTE: For a sample e-mail you can use to welcome new affiliates, click HERE.

4. Offer to answer questions they might have. Offer to assist them in getting their new business up and running. Offer ways you can work together to build your businesses (remember, TEAMWORKING is the key to building huge incomes with our system!!). You may also wish to include a short testimonial of how the system is working for you (if you’ve got a good, strong testimonial to offer, that is). Offer your friendship. Above all else, help us get our new affiliate off to a good start!

The power is our SYSTEM. Stay focused on that!

7. Do NOT confuse them with references to other products, services, or business opportunities. (In fact, this is considered “cross-solicitation,” a serious violation of SFI policy that is grounds for termination.)

Executive Affiliates, Team Leaders

An affiliate who has accumulated at least 1,500 VersaPoints for the month also earns the VIP title of Executive Affiliate or, with at least 3,000 points, the VIP title of Team Leader. These affiliates will be noted on your Genealogy Report.

Here are our suggested guidelines for following up with these up-and-coming leaders:

1. Always identify yourself as an SFI Marketing Group affiliate so your affiliates make the connection as to why you’re contacting them. If you’re their Sponsor, let them know that, too.

2. Ensure ALL your team members are familiar with the To-Do List at the SFI Affiliate Center homepage.

3. Make your communication (e-mail, print, etc.) with them short, friendly, and personal. Use their name in your salutation if you can.

4. Offer to answer questions they might have. Offer to assist them in achieving the goal of accumulating VersaPoints each month and familiarize them with SFI’s simple To-Do List. Offer ways you can work with your affiliates to achieve the maximum amount of VersaPoints they can each month and build your businesses together (remember, TEAMWORKING is the key to building huge incomes with our system!!). You may also wish to include a short testimonial of how the system is working for you (if you’ve got a good, strong testimonial to offer, that is). Offer your friendship. Above all else, help us get your affiliates to take action and build their businesses!

Broadcast a Survey

Find out more about your subscribers by asking questions in your broadcast message. You can provide multiple choice answers for them to click on, and then you can segment a list based on a particular link that was clicked.

Send a Google Docs Survey

You can easily set up surveys through Google. Send subscribers a link to your Google Docs Surveys and check out their answers there. It’s free!

Get Creative

Go beyond surveys and present preference options to your subscribers in a fun way. Set up an email that offers subscribers different things to click on based on what they find most interesting.

Split Test Your Messages

Split test your broadcasts to find out how your subscribers react to different versions of your messages. Do they respond to a specific call to action? A different format? Find out what works and you might see more sales.

Look At Comments

Check out what people are saying about you. You can grab some good testimonials, answer any questions and join in on discussions – it’s a good way to really find out what’s on your subscribers’ minds.

Make It Fun

Offer videos, picture and freebies to subscribers and see how they respond. Do they like the fun stuff? If so, should you make an effort to send more? If you’re seeing a lot of opens and clicks from these emails, it’s something to think about.

Marketing Tools To Use Online

Working online requires marketing tools in order to make money.But when you are starting it is overwhelming. And I do
recall how frustrated I was when following different people who seemed
to have some of the best resources and skills in doing things, and paralysing my brain
