Stress and fatigue is something that many people experience at some stage in their lives. This is common to those who are starting a new career, business, marriage and promotion because there is lot to learn while expecting high productivity.
In the short term, most people cope well by using strategies that help to maintain a life balance.
Sharing your concerns with someone you trust, get opinions from forums, team leaders and mentors.
Asking for help when you need it,accept support and opportunities when offered to you.
Acknowledge your own failure and emulate those who have succeeded in life or business.

However, if you continue to drain your mental and physical resources as a result of poor sales, you then expose yourself to possible Stress or Fatigue, resulting in reduced ability to cope with the demands of Life or Business.

What is Stress?

It is what we feel when we think we have lost control of our emotional Balance or it is the inability to cope with events in our lives.
Stress can come from any situation or a thought that makes you feel frustrated,angry,nervous or even anxious. This is common when you are not getting the leads that your business needs to convert subscribers to become buyers.
There are times when you put your Business in Over-drive but no income is coming through. You feel your energy is completely drained.
The best thing is seek help or start all over again by mapping out new strategies tom resuscitate your Business. I had a similar situation when I started my Network Business. Computer was new to me and the network language was too difficult to comprehend. I almost gave up. Thankfully, i had to consult with my up-line and mentors who encouraged and gave me the strength to continue.

Here are some of the remedies to help you recover from stressful demands...
1Rest and sleep- useful if you have an auto responder service otherwise your business will go to sleep as well.
2.Eat a balanced diet
3.Have time for relaxation
4.Exercise for example, Golf, morning runs,mount biking and any sport that you enjoy.
5.Visit friends and relatives.
6.Attend social events.
7.Go out for a holiday.

FATIGUE
This is when you have been carrying out activities which drain your mental and physical reserves and feeling weak or tired. Basically the body is telling you that you need to rest or sleep. So do not ignore these signs and symptoms. They are devastating to your body leading to a condition called Occupational Overuse Syndrome.
You will start experiencing discomforts or pain in your muscles,tendons and other soft tissues, with or without physical signs.
So play it safe and be a healthy Marketer!

Three Keys to Succeeding This Year

When it comes to succeeding online - whether that means
starting your own online business, earning money as an
affiliate, or something more, there is a world of
confusion.

Create a niche site, some say. But that's easier said
than done.

Publish an ezine, say others. But what would you have
to say?

Become a super affiliate we often hear. Again .. HOW?

In the years I've been online I have been blessed
indeed to be able to learn what I needed to know to
succeed.

Sometimes I learned from others examples. Sometimes I
learned from watching others mistakes. And sometimes I
learned from painful (and costly) trial and error.

Based on all of that, I'd like to share with you three
keys that I believe can help every one of you succeed
this year, and beyond.

---> 1. KNOW YOURSELF

The good thing about the Internet is that there are so
many different ways to make money.

And the bad thing about the Internet is that there are
so many different ways to make money. ;)

So what's a boy (or girl) to do?

Know yourself. Respond to what feels right, what sounds
right to you.

Remember what you learned as a youth -- if it sounds
too good to be true it probably is.

Nowhere is that more true that on the Internet where
scams and snake-oil salesmen abound.

So, how *specifically* does 'knowing yourself' help you
succeed online?

Here's how.

If you are losing sleep over the ability to pay your
bills and need some very fast money you may be much
better off getting a second job for a while than
'starting an online business'.

I know -- that's not the advice you are used to
hearing. But it's the advice I would give my daughter.

There ARE situations where trading time for money makes
*very* good sense - times where the efforts you make
MUST bring a return or you will lose everything.

A bird in the hand still beats two in the bush, and
making any real money online when you are just starting
out is hard. Very hard.

The truth you are not being told is that the "overnight
success" "here's a picture of my PayPal account" "look
at my shiny new race car" stories are by FAR the
exception ... IF they are even telling the truth.

You know that in your gut, so trust yourself when the
voice in your head says "better think twice".

Here's another example.

If you are staying up until the wee hours of the
morning viewing site after site that sound too good to
be true then you are headed for trouble.

Someone is about to pick your pocket.

It might be with the promise of huge commissions or of
doing all the work for you (why would they do that?)
but one way or the other they are going to take your
money. So be careful. Very careful.

---> 2. GET OFF THE OPPORTUNITY TREADMILL

What does that mean? It means stop looking for the next
big thing and start looking for the next real thing.

Specifically, if a business you are considering does
not make sense to you but is asking you to 'trust them'
please don't.

Business online is just like business offline. Those
who stick with things succeed. Those who jump around
don't.

Nowhere is this more evident that in network marketing.
I've read, but not confirmed, that the average person
starting out in network marketing stays with the
program they choose for less than 90 days.

My friend, no one succeeds at anything new in less than
90 days ... especially if they are doing that business
part time.

So, forget the word 'opportunity' for a moment and
focus on the word business.

Here are a few clarifying questions that might help.

Is the business you are considering delivering a real
product?

Does that product help people achieve meaningful goals?

Do you understand how the business works?

Could you explain the business to your best friend and
be comfortable?

WOULD you share the business with your best friend and
still be comfortable in the friendship?

If you answered yes to all of these questions you have
the beginning of a basis to go into a business.

If not, run.

---> 3. FOCUS

We touched on this above but it is *so* important that
I want to hover here for a moment more.

To succeed online (or offline for that matter) you will
have to focus on *one* thing at a time.

* Focus your attention
* Focus your resources
* Focus your passion
* Focus your time

If you learn to focus your resources in this way on
*one* thing and prove that it is for you (or that it is
not for you) you will succeed faster. Period.

How can you focus?

Think of something you want to accomplish. It might be
a business you are considering or a new site you want
to build or a way to advertise a product.

Now examine that from the outside in and then the
inside out and then examine it again.

Ask questions. Be a skeptic. Check out testimonials to
be sure they are real. Ask people who have succeeded
with the idea you are pursuing.

Now go further and Google something about the idea to
see what people are saying and to check the validity of
any sites you might be considering.

Once you *know* that you want to move ahead take action
and give it your all.

Only then can you know what will work for you!

One last word - the fact that something doesn't work
the first time does not mean that it will not work.

Nowhere is this more evident than in the world of
advertising where beginning advertisers wrongly think
they can run one ad and have it succeed.

Professional advertisers know that it takes testing -
and patience - to make an ad campaign work.

If your first attempt at something fails consider
analyzing why and trying again before moving on to
something else.

Use your focus to discover how to do better on the next
try.

The list of people who failed on their first try and
then went on to greatness is legion.

I hope that this year is your best year ever.

Winning Words "Special Edition"

Imagine growing up in the projects, living on welfare. Your father is an
alcoholic and he abuses your mother. In fact, one of your earliest memories is
living in a battered women's shelter.

One day he even puts a gun to your head and tells you:

"I love you but I will kill you."

Imagine a childhood surrounded by gangs and drugs.

Imagine being brought up in a society where it is commonplace to avenge a life
by taking a life.

How do you think your life story would unfold?

Well three boys lived under these conditions. One has been in and out of prison.
One is a well-respected school educator.

And the youngest, Johnny Wimbrey, is on his way to Hollywood.

Go figure. Nature or Nurture? Each child was brought up under identical
conditions yet each life unfolded differently. I believe that while both our
environment and our upbringing help to shape our character, ultimately it is
our ATTITUDE that counts.

Normally, it is said that the word 'but' negates everything before it. Yet,
somehow, when Johnny Wimbrey was told the words "I love you but I will kill
you", it was the words "I love you" that he heard over and above everything
else. Three powerful words indeed. These words gave him hope.

He believes that his brother who is currently in prison for the third time heard
the words "I will kill you". He is now serving a 40-year sentence in State
Penitentiary for aggravated robbery. It might as well be a life sentence.

Johnny's oldest brother chose, from an early age, to stay on the straight and
narrow. Where did that child find the strength of character? What is certain is
that with every decision he made to do the 'right thing' it became just that
little bit easier.

He has been in the ministry since he was 18 years old and became principal of a
public junior high school at age 30.

stop the process of character-building but you can control what you allow to

So what of Johnny? For a while his life could have swung in any direction and it
did. At times he was literally selling drugs on the street on Saturday night
and singing hymns in church on Sunday morning. But it came to a point where he
realised that he had to make a choice. He decided to turn his back completely
on a life that would've most likely landed him in jail or in the morgue.
Judging how his life has been transformed over the ensuing years, one could say
he made the right decision.

He has gone from being an ex-drug dealer to a success phenomenon. He is a best
selling author, an international keynote/motivational speaker plus a success
coach and trainer. Now he is about to host his own television show - The Johnny
Show.

When he announced that he wanted to host his own television show many poured
scorn on his ambitions. It couldn't be done he was told. And here's an
important point - never let another person dream for you; they will dream too
small. Johnny wasn't deterred. After everything he has been through in his life
he knew that it wasn't a question of if he could do it but how he could do it.

It is said that you don't have to know how you are going to achieve your goals.
You have to clearly define what it is you want to achieve, believe that you can
achieve it and take action. Your initial actions may seem insignificant but you
have no idea what they will lead to.

What is all the more remarkable is that when Johnny announced his intention to
host his own show he didn't have any Hollywood connections. However, he didn't
let that put him off. Johnny will tell you that:

"It's not just about setting a goal. It's about seeing the possibility."

He could see the possibility.

Soon after, while travelling from one of his many speaking engagements he found
himself seated next to someone who had just the right connections he needed to
break onto the Hollywood scene. It was the first time this person was meeting
Johnny yet he offered to help him achieve his dream.

Free Agent Nation is an important book with an Amazon.com sales rank of 28,070. Daniel Pink, the author, is a contributing editor at Wired Magazine, where he has written about topics ranging from grassroots solar power to the rise of Wikipedia. He has also written about business, technology, and economics in The New York Times, Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, and other publications. He speaks in many places, including CNBC's "Power Lunch," ABC's "World News Tonight," NPR's "Morning Edition," and American Public Media's "Marketplace," And as an independent business consultant, he's advised start-up ventures and Fortune 100 companies on recruiting, business trends, and work practices.

A Free Agent (the term the author uses for someone who is “self employed”) himself, Dan held his last real job in the White House, where he served from 1995 to 1997 as chief speechwriter to Vice President Al Gore. He's also worked as an aide to U.S. Secretary of Labor Robert B. Reich, an economic policy staffer in the U.S. Senate, a legal researcher in India, and a latrine builder in Botswana.

He received a B.A. with honors in linguistics from Northwestern University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and a J.D. from Yale Law School. He is happy to say he has never practiced law.

I’ve picked up several ideas for articles from Daniel Pink’s writings for Fast Company. He stays right on the cutting edge of new technology and new thinking and manages to portray these to the public well ahead of normal media. This book reinforces ideas I’ve had for a long time about getting out of the normal mindless workplace. One of the beginning ideas taught to me in my very first college management course was Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. At the time Maslow took sort of a second place to the teachings of Frederick Taylor with his time and motion studies.

Many problems encountered by large corporations right this minute derive from their inability to understand the change in worker attitudes away from Taylorization toward Tailorizing their workplace to their own needs. The US economy has advanced in a monumental way from the conditions existing at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution when Taylor’s ideas prevailed. The basic economic needs at the bottom of Maslow’s hierarchy have mostly been met giving workers the freedom to pursue fulfilling their individual dreams, Maslow’s self-actualization.

Mr. Pink also dwells on the idea that not everyone will be able to be in their own business, but he says even if free agency is not possible for someone on a full time basis, every worker should try to have a part time free agency in order to accomplish the highest point on the Hierarchy of Needs for themselves. So, what does Daniel Pink say about the Free Agent Nation?

The book is the result of over a year on the road and face to face interviews with working people. It traces the transition from Organization Man to Free Agent. This book is in stark contrast to the ideas in William H. Whyte, Jr.’s Organization Man where workers traded loyalty for job security. Pink’s book traces people who were on an upward management track but quit their corporate jobs to be their own free agent doing the things they had been managing others to do. Sometimes these free agents are re-hired by their former companies to do their old jobs as consultants—a common free agent occupation.

Free agency is the result of several factors. One is that, given a choice of how to work, seven of ten Americans would choose self-employment. Free agency is not just a style of work, it’s a way of life—a better way of life. Free agents are clear of the restraints of some mindless corporation and are in control of their own destinies. They completely define the new type of American work.

A sign of the extent of free agents is that the largest private employer in the US is the temp agency, Manpower, Inc. It is difficult for government employment reports to track this type of free agency accurately. These people don’t fit census job descriptions, and they are like bees flitting all over the place from one employment to another whereas “normal” employees tend to remain in the same place. Some studies show over 26 percent of workers as self-employed. More than 40 percent of men say they have been self-employed at some time in their careers.

One description of a free agent is “portfolio worker,” where the worker has a portfolio of clients rather than a single employer. An idea of the government’s classification problem is this: The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data show nine million independent contractors while the annual survey of independent employees by Aquent Index says there are 33 million independents, nearly one fourth of the total workforce! This means free agents outnumber all manufacturing workers as well as all government employees.

Free agency has many benefits. One study showed 66 percent of people forced into free agency by corporate actions like downsizing said they would rather work alone than be a wage slave. Full-time free agents earn an average of 15 percent more than similar company employees, and
independent professional free agents are twice as likely to earn over $75,000 per year as similar W-2 employees.

The lowest rank among free agents is that of Temporary Employees (TEMPS). These people are often hired to fill temporary staff requirements with the same skills as regular employees. The problem is they usually receive less pay and no benefits. This makes them second class employees.

It will come as no surprise to home-based entrepreneurs that they are a major component of free agents. Government estimates don’t come close to correctly estimating the number of home-based operators. Some are sidelines, others are in the “cash” economy, and there are other reasons why these businesses are missed. Their importance can’t be ignored, however, because several research groups predict over 37 million home-based businesses to be in operation. Most home-based businesses are classified as micro businesses. Some are committed to being small with no growth plans; these are being called a “nanocorp.” A nanocorp is either a personal preference or a competitive strategy.

So, what caused free agency?

1. When cottage industries disintegrated at the beginning of the industrial revolution, workers traded loyalty to large corporate employers for the security of a job. When downsizing and other corporate actions reduced security, the loyalty also went away.

2. The means of production has once again become cheap enough for an individual to afford them without the help of a corporate employer. This has produced a kind of Digital Marxism where the individual employee can afford production facilities on their own.

3. Long-term prosperity allowed individuals to consider work as a way to provide meaning to life rather than just money. 85 percent of Americans living today have no personal knowledge of the Great Depression and its attendant economic hardship.

4. The life of a corporation has become so short that most workers will outlive at least one or two of their previous employers.

The Free Agent Nation has redefined the Protestant Work Ethic to include having individual freedom, authentic self-expression, individual accountability for one’s actions, and defining success on individual terms, meaning money isn’t always success. Free agents have also changed the familiar Peter Principle stating people will rise in an organization until they reach their level of incompetence. Free agents now recognize the Peter-Out Principle: when they stop having fun at work, they leave to go out on their own.

A new Free Agent contract is not loyalty for security—it is now talent for opportunity. Vertical loyalty to the company is now horizontal embracing colleagues and customers rather than any corporation. In exchange for control over their own time free agents often work many continuous hours in exchange for saying which hours or days they will not work. Free agents are the New Economy 7-Eleven: they may be empty at times but they never close.

Free Agent Nation (F.A.N.) has its own clubs. F.A.N Clubs had their origin in Ben Franklin’s Junto of 1727 which became the first American public library. The purpose is to form regular discussion among free agents with similar interests bound by an informal agreement rather than a legal one.

Old Economy organization charts were organized vertically, while the Free Agency New Economy chart is fluid and horizontal. This encourages trust as the platform upon which to operate the New Economy. It’s like the Golden Rule.

The F.A.N. demands a different infrastructure. Satisfactory places to do business are similar to a Starbucks coffee house—simply a place to meet with other free agents with perhaps a wireless facility for your laptop. Office supply stores, printing shops, and similar structures provide the same kinds of infrastructure—and perhaps business opportunities for some of you.

Free agent economy differs from that of the Organization Man by replacing power of capital with the power of talent. The relationship has become emotionally complex requiring agents and coaches to place talent where it is needed. The old industrial economy separated families from work while the F.A.N. causes a blending of the two. Family businesses now account for around 60 percent of all employment in the world.

Business laws in the US were designed for the days when everyone worked their entire lives for a single employer. This is no longer true, so all these laws are becoming a hindrance to development of the new economy. Health insurance paid for by employers makes no sense now because most of us are free agents and have no employees. Another outdated legal area is tax law; small businesses are punished by double taxation for Social Security, limited deductions for health insurance, and the unbearable burden of complying with the maize of IRS regulations. Finally, local zoning laws often actually prohibit the legal establishment of a small business.

The dark side of free agency is the TEMP side. Because most have no benefits, these workers are often called TEMP slaves. Unfortunately these people never will be able to consider the Maslow pinnacle.

Free agency may also bring the end of retirement as we know it. Its replacement is e-tirement where seniors will continue to use electronic technology to pursue work on some basis. They will be encouraged by great wealth—it is expected that baby boomers will inherit over $10 trillion from their parents.

Possibly the most profound change to be brought about by the F.A.N. will be replacement of our present mass public education system. Home schooling, already on the rise in many places, will encourage self-education and use of floating neighborhood tutors resulting in education more in tune with the free agent economy. High school will be completely replaced and the value of college will be diminished. Good riddance!

Free agency will also impact commercial office space. The present tool shed model with desks and equipment will be replaced by two quite different models: a quiet place for serious work and a place similar to a pub where community relationships can be nurtured. A considerable number of former tenants will be using HOHOs, His Office/Her Office in the same home. Financing for this new economy will evolve into something similar to the way many performers are putting together packages of their works which are purchased by investors. The investors get a percentage of the package income and the performer gets a steady wealth stream.

In the future free agent economy, midsize businesses will nearly disappear. Those who can benefit from economies of scale will get unbelievably large while most business will be of the small free agent kind.

If you are already a free agent, the ideas in this book should be of value helping you understand that you are part of a new lifestyle that is becoming pervasive in the All-American culture. Free agents represent a new Can-Do Spirit among all American employees. The full extent is not recognized by the government, allowing the phenomenon to grow virtually without restraint. If you are already a free agent, or you are considering becoming one, realize this is a culture about the meaning of you. You are accountable only to yourself for whatever success you may achieve.
