A recent research carried out by a team from Victoria Schoool of Marketing and International Business, University of Otago and independent Researchers found out that there is a huge long -term opportunities in China and India.
Many companies are rushing to set up business outlets in these countries while others are exporting their products and services to the Asian market.
The Asian region represents an exciting economic opportunity for New Zealand business firms – particularly the world’s two fastest growing major economies; China and India.
The research team interviewed 60 New Zealand companies active in exporting their services and products to China and India. The out come was that some companies tend to penetrate those markets independently, but there is substantial evidence world-wide indicating that if there was a collaborative and networking approach, this will lead to better business outcome.
One of the New Zealand companies that is leading the way is New Image International, that has established offices in Asia and it is reported that it is doing well in terms of exports. Most of the income generation comes from these countries. It is expanding steadily to all the countries in that region.
On the international scene, Artifu International from Europe has already penetrated the Asian market and it is dominating the art market in India. It is launching its company early this month. It has more than 1000 customers already.
The report states that companies that spend enough time studying,understanding the market place and building good relationship with the key players were found to have more added advantages than those companies that do not have managers in those countries.
Building a relationship is very important if you want to lay a sustainable investment in Asia. It is advisable to engage a local representative as an adviser and interpreter in order to open door for prosperity.
